Since 1964 Western Helicopters has been a full service helicopter operator, providing flight training to primary and advanced helicopter pilots. We provide helicopter training to over 55 law enforcement agencies and the public for Day and Night Touchdown Autorotation Training, Mountain Flying, Turbine Transition Training, Vertical Reference External Load Training, and primary flight training.

Aircraft available include the Schweizer 300C and MD 500D. Primary training is conducted under FAA Part 141 and Part 61. Western Helicopters traces its roots back to 1964. The Chief Pilot, Pete Gillies, joined Western in 1972, and the Chief Instructor, Bob Spencer, joined in 1980.
